The Works of Peter Dale Scott

Peter Dale Scott has attracted quite a bit of attention for his polemical, provocative, and transparent political beliefs and opinions. The author works in the disciplines of both poetry and prose, yet his politics have been most infused into the nonfiction branch of his oeuvre. We wanted to provide a listing of Scott's signature works that are most revelant to the current national conversation. On War and 9/11

  1. The War Conspiracy: JFK, 911, and the Deep Politics of War. (2008) This work was first published in 1972, but this link sends you to a refurbished 2008 edition. Scott here parallels the Vietnam War with 9/11.
  2. The Road to 9/11: Wealth, Empire and the Future of America. (2008) In this book, Scott details his interpretations of contributions of presidents since Nixon to the 9/11 debacle. This work has attracted controversy and praise alike.
  3. Cocaine Politics: Drugs, Armies, and the CIA in Central America. (1998) Reviews of this work describe it as Scott's attempt to expose the drug war as a sham. Scott unearths links between the CIA and South American drug connections. 
  4. Coming to Jakarta: A Poem About Terror. (1989) This was one of Scott's first works to push him into the national limelight. This political poem has been hailed as one of the most important ever of its kind. 
  5. Post 9/11 World. (2010) Scott collaborated on this article with Coleen Rowley. They seek to describe the state of the nation nine years after the devastation of 9/11.

Afghanistan and Al Qaeda

  1. American War Machine: Deep Politics, the CIA Global Drug Connection, and the Road to Afghanistan. (2010) The provocative title of this work also conveys the depth it totes. Scott composed more than 400 pages for this, his most recent full-scale work.
  2. The Road to 9/11: Wealth, Empire and the Future of America. (2008) This link will take you to Amazon where you may read samples of this and also purchase it. The work shows Scott's passion to peel away the conspiracy.
  3. The War Conspiracy: JFK, 911, and the Deep Politics of War. (2008) Scott has composed an essay here that compares the circumstances of the War on Terror to conflicts of the 1960s. He also goes into more of his ideas on "deep politics." 
  4. Afghanistan, Colombia, Vietnam: The Deep Politics of Drugs and Oil. (2011) Scott composed this article earlier this year for OpEdNews. He attempts to probe more deeply into the complex nature of the drug conflict.
  5. How the FBI Protected Al Qaeda's 9/11 Hijacking Trainer. (2006) Scott wrote this piece for the Canadian website, Global Research. He walks the reader through the controversial claims of the article's title.

Drugs and Oil

  1. American War Machine: Deep Politics, the CIA Global Drug Connection, and the Road to Afghanistan. (2010) Scott's latest full-length endeavor continues his exploration of "deep politics." It's received excellent reviews from literary critics. 
  2. Oil and Islam. (2009) This article, written for Global Research, shows Scott exploring the relationship between oil and a widespead religion. Many of the sources used for the article receive links here.
  3. Cocaine Politics: Drugs, Armies, and the CIA in Central America. (1998) Scott collaborated on this work with fellow author Jonathan Marshall. Many of the American government's lesser-known activities in the drug war are exposed here.
  4. Afghanistan, Colombia, Vietnam: The Deep Politics of Drugs and Oil. (2011) Scott exhibits a characteristic focus on historical patterns in contemporary conflicts. This time, the Vietnam war reflects on modern-day drug trafficking.
  5. The Need for Soft Politics. (2004) This article is Scott's preface for his work, Drugs, Oil, and War. He focuses on the position of third-world countries in the drug war.

Bush and Cheney

  1. American War Machine: Deep Politics, the CIA Global Drug Connection, and the Road to Afghanistan. (2010) Scott cannot help but reference Bush and his presidency frequently here. Cheney is also often cited.
  2. Cheney's Actions on 9/11. (2007) This link will direct you to a PDF where you can read this article directly. Scott opens calls for Cheney to discuss his choices regarding 9/11 strictly under oath.
  3. Congress and the Bush Administration. (2008) This article was written by Scott for the political newsletter, Counterpunch. There are many footnotes used here, the sources for which are all searchable.
  4. Bush Extends 9/11 Emergency Yet Again. (2008) This article does indeed go into detail about Bush's behavior. But it also shines a light on the actions of Cheney dating back to the 1980s.
  5. Casey et Bush. (2010) This article was translated into French and is a sample of Scott's latest work, The Road to 9/11. It discusses with detail Scott's thoughts on the contemporary American republican party.
